Grand State-Level Function to Be Held at Umri in Kurukshetra on January 31 on Sant Guru Ravidas Jayanti

State-Level Ceremony to Be Presided Over by Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar

Chandigarh, January 16: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the state government has initiated the practice of officially organizing celebrations on the birth anniversaries of great saints to pass on their teachings and life values to the younger generation, thereby promoting social harmony in society. Continuing this initiative, a grand state-level function will be organized on January 31 at Umri in Kurukshetra on the occasion of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Jayanti. The ceremony will be presided over by Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar.

The Chief Minister was addressing a delegation led by Development and Panchayat as well as Mining Minister Krishan Lal Panwar and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Bedi at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, on Friday. On this occasion, both ministers formally invited the Chief Minister to attend the celebrations of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Nayab Singh Saini said that the teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas continue to guide society even today. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to celebrating Guru Ravidas Jayanti with full devotion, respect, and grandeur. The Chief Minister appealed to all concerned to work with coordination and active participation to make the event historic and memorable.

Development and Panchayat as well as Mining Minister Krishan Lal Panwar informed that devotees from 14 districts—Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Jind, Hansi, Jhajjar, and Fatehabad—will participate at the block level, while devotees from the remaining nine districts will join at the district level in large numbers.

He further stated that all necessary arrangements related to public convenience, transportation, cleanliness, drinking water, and security would be ensured well in advance to ensure the smooth and dignified conduct of the ceremony. As per the Chief Minister’s directions, special committees will be constituted in every district to invite devotees and manage the distribution of invitation cards and coordination.

Former Minister Dr. Banwari Lal, Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, BJP SC Morcha State President and former MLA Satya Prakash Jarawata, BJP State General Secretary Surender Poonia, BJP leader Banto Kataria, and Chief Media Advisor to Union Power Minister Manohar Lal, Sudesh Kataria, along with other dignitaries and officials, were present on the occasion.
