Chandigarh, April 21 – Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij has directed the formation of a three-member committee to investigate complaints related to workers and irregularities in their registration under the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The committee will submit its report within three months.
Presiding over a board meeting today, Vij announced that the committee will consist of Sunil Dhillon representing workers’ unions, Bhupender Sharma on behalf of employers, and Joint Secretary A.K. Deshwal from the department.
To address worker grievances efficiently, the Minister instructed that help desks be set up at all block levels. He emphasized that call centers and help desks should operate independently. Officials informed that regional call centers are already functional in Panchkula, Hisar, and Sonipat.
Vij further clarified that if a worker’s application for registration is rejected for any reason, the registration fee must be refunded. He also directed that a detailed report of the decisions taken in the previous board meeting be compiled separately.
The meeting was attended by Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (Seva) Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, Principal Secretary of the Labour & Employment Department Rajeev Ranjan, Labour Commissioner Maniram Sharma, the Board Chairman, and other members and officials.
