Chandigarh, November 18 — The fourth sacred Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of ‘Hind Ki Chadar’ Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji began with a grand ceremony in Sadhoura, Yamunanagar district. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini offered prayers at Gurdwara Dyodhi Sahib and urged people to spread Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s message of sacrifice and spiritual discipline to every household. He also announced a contribution of ₹31 lakh to Gurdwara Dyodhi Sahib from his discretionary fund.

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government, in collaboration with the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, is commemorating Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom year on a grand scale to take the Guru’s legacy of sacrifice and courage to the masses. He added that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji made the supreme sacrifice to protect humanity, religion, and the nation, and that it is essential to ensure future generations draw inspiration from this history.
Calling Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji the world’s first great champion of human rights, he said the Nagar Kirtan from Sadhoura will carry the Guru’s ideals of devotion, courage, and religious freedom across the state. He informed that four such Nagar Kirtan processions are travelling through all districts of Haryana, and will converge in Kurukshetra on November 24 for an interfaith conference. The following day, November 25, a grand congregation will be held on Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom day, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending as the chief guest. The CM urged devotees to visit Kurukshetra with their families to be part of this historic event.
The Chief Minister praised the Modi government for fulfilling the long-pending demand of setting up the Kartarpur Corridor, allowing pilgrims to visit the revered shrine. He said Haryana has also been working to preserve the legacy of the Gurus through several initiatives. These include establishing a Guru Tegh Bahadur Chair at Chaudhary Devi Lal University in Sirsa, renaming the Panchkula–Paonta Sahib road after Guru Gobind Singh Ji, renaming the Kurukshetra–Lohgarh Sahib road after Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, granting 70 kanals of land to Gurdwara Sri Chilla Sahib in Sirsa, and laying the foundation of the Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial in Lohgarh.

Calling the martyrdom anniversary a moment of transformation, the Chief Minister said the fourth Nagar Kirtan will inspire people across every town and village as it moves through the state, lighting the path for future generations.
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana also addressed the gathering, urging people to follow the path shown by the Gurus in service of society and the nation.
Prominent attendees included Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Sardar Jagdish Singh Jhinda, OSD Dr Prabhleen Singh, District President Rajesh Sapra, former minister Krishan Pal, former MLA Balwant Singh, Bishan Lal Saini, Banto Kataria, Suman Bahmani, Shalini Sharma, Ramesh Kumar Thaska, Inderjit Singh Dhillon, Kulwinder Singh, Iqbal Singh Bhatia, Sardar Gulab Singh, and Bibi Kartar Kaur.
