Haryana Expands Healthcare and Housing Support for Poor Families, Says CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, December 11, 2025— Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the state government has significantly strengthened welfare schemes aimed at providing healthcare, financial assistance, and housing support to economically weaker families.

He said that under the Chirayu Haryana scheme, 25.39 lakh patients have received free treatment worth ₹4,126 crore. In the first phase of the Nirogi Haryana initiative, health check-ups have been completed for 96.72 lakh beneficiaries from Antyodaya families, along with 5.60 crore free laboratory tests.

The Chief Minister added that 38,671 families have received ₹1,456 crore in financial assistance under the Dayalu Yojana. Nearly 14.70 lakh families are benefitting from subsidised LPG cylinders available to poor women for just ₹500 per month. Under the Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana (HAPPY), eligible citizens receive free travel for up to 1,000 km annually.

Saini said that the government is committed to ensuring housing security for poor families. Under the Ambedkar Awas Renovation Scheme, ₹416 crore has been provided to 76,985 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries for house repairs. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 1.47 lakh houses have been allotted to eligible families. Additionally, 15,765 urban poor families have received residential plots under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme (Urban), while 12,031 plots have been allotted under the rural version across 58 gram panchayats.

At a public event, the Chief Minister handed over flat allotment letters to 509 beneficiaries under the EWS Housing Scheme, presenting keys to 20 families on the spot. These beneficiaries include 16 members of denotified tribes, 79 widows, 186 Scheduled Caste families, and 208 other economically weaker households. A waiting list of 127 applicants was also released.

Saini also unveiled the official district logo of Sonipat, created by 20 government school students under the guidance of Education Department APC Rupendra Poonia. The emblem captures the district’s ancient Mahabharata heritage, sports achievements, mushroom and grain production, educational institutions, automobile sector, Asia’s largest Ganaur vegetable market, the renowned Murthal dhabas, NH-44, and the sacred Yamuna River.
