Chandigarh, November 27, 2025: Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone pushing the youth into the trap of drug addiction. She directed officials to intensify operations against those involved in the illegal sale of narcotic medicines as part of the state’s campaign to make Haryana drug-free.
Acting on her instructions, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Haryana conducted surprise raids at several medical stores in Sirsa district under the “Nasha-Mukt Bharat” campaign. During the inspections, violations of drug regulations were found at 20 medical stores, resulting in action against their operators.
State Drug Controller Dr. Lalit Goyal informed that Commissioner Manoj Kumar had instructed sudden inspections in Sirsa district. Six Drug Control Officers were assigned the task under the supervision of the Senior Drugs Control Officer.
Guided by Sirsa Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma and based on inputs from the Superintendents of Police of Sirsa and Dabwali, as well as confidential information, raids were carried out in villages including Singhpura, Ganga, Abubshahar, Chautala, Sakta Khera, Malikpura, Budhi Mari, Darbi, Bhavdeen, and in Sirsa city. A total of 29 shops were inspected.
Although no narcotic drugs were recovered during the operation, minor violations of rules were detected at 20 medical stores. Drug Control Officers have prepared reports and forwarded them to higher authorities. Further action is being taken as per regulations.
Dr. Goyal added that inspections and raids against illegal drug sellers will continue under the Nasha-Mukt Bharat campaign to curb drug misuse across the state.
