Haryana CM Says Aatmanirbhar Bharat Is a National Resolve for the 21st Century

Chandigarh, November 29 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said Aatmanirbhar Bharat is not just a slogan but a national resolve to make India a leading economic power in the 21st century. He was addressing the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Conference held in Panchkula on Friday.

The Chief Minister said the ideas generated at this conference will boost the vision of Viksit Bharat–Viksit Haryana. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making India a developed nation by 2047 and achieving a five-trillion-dollar economy by 2030. According to him, the essence of Aatmanirbhar Bharat lies in self-reliance in industry, agriculture, education, skills, technology and trade.

Saini said the Prime Minister’s five pillars economy, infrastructure, system, demography and demand have become the foundation of nation-building. Haryana, he said, is playing a major role in strengthening each of these pillars, and even the Prime Minister has called Haryana the “growth engine of India.”

Speaking on the agricultural sector, he said Haryana has played a leading role in making India self-reliant in food production. The state is now focusing on crop diversification and boosting the production of pulses and oilseeds. In the industrial sector, the ‘Haryana Aatmanirbhar Portal’ is helping entrepreneurs access government schemes directly. Over 12 lakh MSMEs have provided employment to more than 65 lakh people, and reforms under Ease of Doing Business have enabled support worth nearly ₹400 crore.

Saini said that through the PADMA programme, industrial infrastructure is being developed at the cluster level in every block. More than 1,100 unnecessary regulations have been removed across 48 departments to create an industry-friendly environment. In the last 11 years, 7.66 lakh MSMEs have been established, generating over 39 lakh jobs.

Highlighting demography as a crucial pillar, the Chief Minister said Haryana aims to produce job creators rather than job seekers. After the launch of the Haryana Startup Policy 2022, more than 9,500 startups have been established in the state. Recently, 22 startups received financial assistance worth ₹1.14 crore, and a ₹2,000 crore Fund of Funds is being set up.

To strengthen the demand–supply chain, Haryana is developing its NCR region as a major logistics hub. Key projects such as expressways, freight corridors, multimodal logistics hubs, greenfield projects, the 1000-acre Global City in Gurugram, the electronics cluster in IMT Sohna, and the industrial clusters in Hisar and Narnaul are progressing rapidly. HSIIDC is also working on establishing 10 new industrial model townships.

Saini urged advocates and public representatives to join the one-minute Gita recital on December 1 at 11 a.m. to celebrate Gita Jayanti and spread the message of duty, righteousness and nation-building.

He also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently mentioned the Mahabharata-themed Anubhav Kendra built in Kurukshetra during his visit to Udupi, Karnataka, and appealed to people across the country to visit this unique center.
