Haryana CM Releases Second Installment of ‘Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana’, Rs148 Crore Transferred to Over 7 Lakh Women

Chandigarh, December 3 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday released the second installment of the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana’, transferring nearly ₹148 crore directly into the bank accounts of 7,01,965 eligible women beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, accompanied by Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (Seva) Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi.

Saini said the government has now decided to provide the scheme benefits every three months, with beneficiaries receiving three months’ assistance in a single payment. According to him, the scheme aims not only to offer financial support but also to strengthen women’s social empowerment and economic independence.

He recalled launching the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi’ mobile app on September 25, marking the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. The first installment of the scheme was released on November 1 to eligible applicants.

As of November 30, a total of 9,00,592 women have applied through the app, out of which 7,01,965 have been found eligible. Among them, 5,58,346 applicants have completed their Aadhaar KYC, while verification for 1,43,619 women is still pending. The Chief Minister urged those with pending KYC to complete the process at the earliest to receive the benefits.

Technology Ensures Transparency

Saini said women aged 23 years or older, belonging to families with an annual income below ₹1 lakh, are eligible for the scheme. A key feature is that all eligible women within a family can receive benefits. The entire application process is transparent and fully online through the Lado Laxmi mobile app, allowing applicants to apply anytime and from anywhere.

Once an application is submitted, verification is completed within 24 to 48 hours. Eligible applicants receive an SMS asking them to upload a live photo on the app as the final step. After Aadhaar-based e-KYC is completed, the Seva Department issues the scheme ID.

The Chief Minister added that the scheme has received an overwhelming response, with 3,000 to 4,000 women applying daily. He said the initiative strengthens social security and reinforces the government’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.”

He also highlighted other welfare measures, including providing gas cylinders at ₹500 to over 15 lakh women under the Har Ghar–Har Grihini scheme, offering free dialysis services to kidney patients, and ensuring Haryana remains the first state in the country to procure farmers’ crops at minimum support price.

Senior officials present at the event included Additional Chief Secretary of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department G. Anupama, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department Makarand Pandurang, Seva Department Director Prashant Panwar, and Additional Director Varsha Khangwal.
