Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Welcomes ‘Sheesh Marg Yatra’ in Chandigarh, Honouring Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Sacrifice

Chandigarh, November 26, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday welcomed the ‘Sheesh Marg Yatra’ at the CRPF campus in Chandigarh. The yatra is dedicated to the 350th martyrdom year of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The Chief Minister paid his respects to the sacred palki sahib, while the CRPF unit showered flowers on Sri Guru Granth Sahib and presented a guard of honour on its arrival.

Saini said the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is a guiding light for humanity. He noted that the courage and devotion with which the Guru offered his life to protect faith, truth and humanity set an example for the entire world. He added that the Sheesh Marg Yatra inspires people to follow the path of communal harmony, brotherhood, duty and courage. The Haryana government, he said, stands firmly with such spiritual and social events. The yatra began from Sheesh Ganj Gurdwara in New Delhi on November 24 and will conclude at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 26.

Led by Baba Manjit Singh Ji of Zirakpur, this marks the 15th Sheesh Marg Yatra, drawing large participation from the sangat. As the yatra entered Haryana, it received a warm welcome across several towns including Badkhalsa, Taraori, Karnal, Panipat and Ambala. Devotees offered floral tributes, performed kirtan and ardas, and served langar, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere throughout the route.

Upon reaching Chandigarh, the sangat filled the surroundings with devotional hymns, kirtan and prayers, honouring the Guru’s sacrifice and spreading spiritual calm. Hundreds of devotees gathered to witness and be part of this sacred journey.

Those present included Harpal Singh Gill, Director of the Punjabi Cell of Haryana Sahitya Academy; Sanjay Tandon; former CRPF IG Jasvir Singh Sandhu; DIG Harjinder Singh; COs Vishal and Vikram Singh; DSP Kulwinder Singh; and village Sarpanch Sukhjit Singh, among other dignitaries.
