Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Visits Western Command Headquarters, Praises Army’s Role in Operation Sindoor

Chandigarh, January 3: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday visited the Western Command Headquarters at Chandimandir Military Station, where he reviewed the operational preparedness of the Command and lauded the Indian Army’s efforts during Operation Sindoor and its humanitarian assistance initiatives.

The Chief Minister was received and briefed by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Army Commander, Western Command. The visit began with a tour of the Western Command Museum, where Saini was apprised of the Command’s illustrious history, major military operations, acts of bravery, and evolving military traditions, offering him a comprehensive overview of its operational legacy.

During an extensive briefing and interaction with senior military officers, the Chief Minister was informed about the key achievements of the Western Command. These included accomplishments under Operation Sindoor, humanitarian assistance provided during Operation Rahat, ongoing recruitment rallies, youth outreach programmes, logistics support systems, modernisation efforts, and the integration of new technologies.

Initiatives related to the welfare of ex-servicemen, including the Senior Veterans Home, were also highlighted. These efforts reflect the Indian Army’s people-centric approach and its continued commitment to the dignity, care, and well-being of veterans and their families.

Praising the Western Command for its role in Operation Sindoor and its humanitarian missions, the Chief Minister assured full cooperation from the Haryana government in addressing issues related to ex-servicemen. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting veterans and strengthening civil-military coordination.

The visit concluded with a brief one-on-one interaction between the Chief Minister and the Army Commander, reinforcing the shared commitment towards national security, youth empowerment, and veteran welfare through strong civil-military synergy.
