Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Meets Newly Inducted Sikh Gurdwara Committee Members, Assures Full Support

Chandigarh, May 11, 2025 — A delegation from the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today at his residence, ‘Sant Kabir Kutir.’ The Chief Minister congratulated the newly inducted members and called it a historic moment for the Sikh community. He noted that this was the first peaceful election of the committee since the formation of the current government for the third time.

The committee, which oversees the management of Sikh gurdwaras in the state, had previously elected 40 members. An additional nine members were recently chosen unanimously, several of whom were present at the meeting with the Chief Minister. Saini urged the delegation to work for the community with transparency and selflessness and assured them that the state government would offer full cooperation for all community welfare initiatives.

He emphasized that the committee’s contributions will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations and help build a lasting identity. The delegation also shared several suggestions related to the Sikh community, to which the Chief Minister responded positively and promised action.

Addressing the ongoing water-sharing issue, Saini said that Punjab and Haryana are bound by brotherhood. He criticized the Punjab government for politicizing the issue and asserted that Haryana must receive its rightful share. He stressed that, in accordance with the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, water should be distributed fairly for the benefit of all.

Notable figures present at the meeting included Sikh community leaders Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Baljit Singh Daduwal, and Gulab Singh Munak, along with the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Tarun Bhandari and other dignitaries.
