Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Expresses Grief Over Demise of Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani

Chandigarh, June 30 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of former Gujarat Chief Minister and Punjab BJP in-charge, Vijay Rupani. Rupani passed away in an air crash in Ahmedabad, which the Chief Minister described as an irreparable loss for the nation. CM Saini was speaking today at a condolence meeting organized at Ambedkar Bhawan in Chandigarh, attended by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Haryana BJP State President Mohanlal Kaushik, and other senior dignitaries.

In his condolence message, Chief Minister Saini said that the passing of Vijay Rupani is a profound shock for everyone. He said Rupani dedicated his entire life to the ideals of Indian culture, nationalism, and a spirit of service. Describing him as a true karmayogi, a thoughtful leader, and a symbol of connection with the masses, Saini stated that the nation has lost a public figure who served the party organization, government, and society with utmost devotion and justice.

He added that Vijay Rupani’s ideology was closely connected with the core ethos of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His political career was anchored on the four pillars of patriotism, transparency, good governance, and service. He was a staunch advocate of nationalist ideology and deeply rooted in Indian cultural values. Saini described Rupani as humble and hardworking, firmly committed to the party’s ideology. He said Rupani held various responsibilities within the organization and worked diligently as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, taking several measures that accelerated Gujarat’s development, particularly in improving ease of living for its people.

The Chief Minister noted that Vijay Rupani served as Chief Minister of Gujarat from August 7, 2016, to September 11, 2021, after winning the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections from the Rajkot West constituency. At the time of his demise, he was serving as the Punjab BJP in-charge. Saini recalled Rupani’s significant guidance for the organizational growth of the BJP in Haryana, stating that Rupani visited Haryana multiple times and inspired party workers to function with organizational discipline and a spirit of service. Saini said Rupani’s memories and ideology will always continue to inspire them, and walking the path shown by him in public service and nation-building would be the true tribute to his legacy.

CM Nayab Singh Saini paid heartfelt tribute to the departed soul and prayed to God to grant him a place at His divine feet and to give strength to his family to bear this immense loss.
