Haryana CM Nayab Saini pitches state as global startup hub at TiECon Chandigarh 2026

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday, April 11, 2026, invited global entrepreneurs to leverage Haryana’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, revealing that the state is now home to 19 of India’s 117 unicorns. Addressing the TiECon Chandigarh 2026 summit, the Chief Minister underscored his government’s commitment to transforming innovative ideas into successful enterprises through robust policy support and simplified digital governance. On the occasion, he distributed investment cheques worth ₹7.5 crore to four promising startups—Gamma Opengig Work, Delectable Gourmet, Dreamaerospace Technologies, and Ariro—in collaboration with the Chandigarh Angels Network.

The Chief Minister also presented the TiECon Chandigarh Awards 2026, recognizing excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation across various sectors. Former Minister Aseem Goel, who attended the event, remarked that under Saini’s leadership, Haryana is reaching new heights of development by providing a favorable and cooperative environment for investors. The Chief Minister emphasized that indigenous innovation is key to making India self-reliant (Atmanirbhar) and positioning it as a global leader in the new-age digital economy.

Key Industrial and IT Highlights:

  • AI and Digital Push: Two new Artificial Intelligence (AI) centers are being established in Haryana to strengthen the state’s digital infrastructure and ITES architecture.
  • Barwala Industrial Zone: Commissioner and Secretary of the Industries Department, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, highlighted Haryana’s emergence as a global IT hub and invited investors to explore opportunities in the upcoming industrial area being developed in Barwala, Panchkula.
  • Startup Growth: Over 9,500 startups are currently registered in the state, supported by the Haryana Enterprises & Employment Policy, which has been extended to ensure continuity for new industrial units.
  • Sectoral Focus: The Chief Minister specifically urged investment in fast-growing sectors such as food processing, electric vehicles (EVs), and the expanding logistics ecosystem within the National Capital Region (NCR).

The conclave featured insights from prominent leaders including TiE Chandigarh President Puneet Verma and STPI Director General Arvind Kumar, who discussed the synergy between government policies and technological growth. The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming that Haryana remains a land of unlimited opportunities, dedicated to supporting budding investors to ensure their ventures scale successfully in alignment with the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision.
