Haryana CM Nayab Saini Announces 7,500 Group-D Appointments, Assures Support for CET Aspirants

Chandigarh (National Times): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced that joining orders for approximately 7,500 Group-D government positions will be issued shortly. The announcement came during a press conference held after a Cabinet meeting in Chandigarh.

Addressing the media, CM Saini highlighted the growing enthusiasm for the Haryana Common Eligibility Test (CET), revealing that 13.48 lakh candidates have registered this year—an increase from 11 lakh last year.

He acknowledged technical challenges faced by candidates due to heavy traffic on the SARAL portal but assured that over 6 lakh applicants from BC-A, BC-B, and Scheduled Caste categories successfully downloaded their caste certificates and completed the registration process.

In a major relief for students facing delays in obtaining caste certificates, the Chief Minister clarified that they will still be permitted to appear in the CET. “Their pending documentation will be completed during or after the examination process,” he said.

On the broader issue of government recruitment, CM Saini emphasized that all departments have been instructed to evaluate and rationalize job positions according to current requirements. Departments have also been asked to send requisition letters to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) to expedite the recruitment process.

“Several outdated positions are being phased out, and new posts are being created to align with today’s administrative and technological needs. This is a dynamic, ongoing process,” he explained.

When questioned about the ongoing student protests at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar, the Chief Minister appealed for calm and urged students to prioritize their education.

“They are our children, and while it’s healthy to be politically aware, this is the time to focus on their studies and secure a better future. They must make their families and the state proud,” Saini remarked.

On the subject of law and order, CM Saini reaffirmed his government’s commitment to maintaining peace and safety across the state. “Our police forces are working with efficiency and dedication, and I commend their efforts,” he said.

The press conference was attended by Sh. K.M. Pandurang, Director General of the Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, and Sh. Praveen Attrey, Media Secretary to the Chief Minister.
