Chandigarh, March 9 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini honored renowned litterateur Dr. Sant Ram Deshwal and Paralympic gold medalist Harvinder Singh at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir. Both awardees, along with their families, met the CM following their Padma Shri recognition.

During the meeting, CM Saini presented shawls and mementos to Dr. Deshwal and Harvinder Singh, extending his heartfelt congratulations on receiving India’s prestigious Padma Shri award. The CM’s wife, Suman Saini, also conveyed her best wishes.
Dr. Sant Ram Deshwal is a celebrated scholar of both Haryanvi and Hindi literature. Recognized as a custodian of Haryana’s folk language, culture, and heritage, his lifelong contributions span literature, education, journalism, editing, research, and social service. His work has been instrumental in preserving and promoting Haryanvi folk traditions.
Harvinder Singh: India’s Trailblazing Para-Archer
Para-archer Harvinder Singh made history as India’s first Paralympian to win a medal in archery at both the Paralympics and Asian Para Games. His remarkable achievements in para-archery earned him the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2021. CM Saini commended Harvinder for bringing glory to India and inspiring countless young athletes.
