Haryana CM Highlights Police Recruitment Irregularities, Beti Bachao Success, and Pension Reforms

Chandigarh, March 18 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini raised concerns over irregularities in the 2008 police inspector recruitment under the Congress government, highlighting that the Punjab and Haryana High Court had also questioned the process. Speaking during the Zero Hour of the budget session in the Haryana Assembly, he pointed out that top-ranking candidates were ignored while others were selected. He also accused the opposition of misleading youth during the recent elections by making false job promises.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the success of the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Panipat in 2015. He stated that Haryana’s sex ratio has significantly improved from 835 girls per 1,000 boys in 2015 to 910 today, attributing the progress to heightened public awareness and government efforts. Saini clarified that the campaign was for all sections of society and was not politically motivated but aimed at addressing the declining sex ratio.

Additionally, Saini highlighted improvements in the Old Age Pension Scheme. Under the previous Congress government, elderly citizens had to wait long periods to receive their pensions. However, his administration has automated the process, ensuring that pensions are credited automatically when a person turns 60, eliminating any delays.
