Chandigarh, December 12, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Swami Brahmanand Ji was a remarkable spiritual figure whose principles continue to guide society, culture and collective thought. Addressing followers from Swami Brahmanand Ji’s birthplace, Chuhad Majra, at Sant Kabir Kutir on Thursday evening, the Chief Minister described him as a “light for generations” and a true symbol of service, sacrifice and nation-building.
Saini said society draws inspiration from saints and spiritual leaders whose lives demonstrate the values of morality, compassion, discipline and service. Swami Brahmanand Ji, he said, dedicated his life to protecting and promoting India’s cultural and moral foundations. In an age driven by materialism, his teachings remain even more relevant.
The Chief Minister noted that Swami Brahmanand Ji renounced worldly life at a young age and devoted himself fully to spiritual discipline. After receiving Vedic education at Gurukul Kurukshetra, he committed his knowledge, actions and austerity to the welfare of humanity. Deeply inspired by Arya Samaj principles, he stressed monotheism and service to humanity as the truest form of worship.
Saini added that Swami Brahmanand Ji awakened society at a time when India was under foreign rule, rural communities lacked basic facilities, and social life was trapped in rigid traditions. Through his speeches, writings and actions, he generated awareness and encouraged reform. His study of the Vedas and Upanishads led him to write several texts that offered people new perspectives and renewed inspiration.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Swami Brahmanand Ji believed education to be the foundation of social upliftment, especially for women in rural areas. He emphasised three pillars of a progressive society: cow protection, education and social reform. In 1947, he also established the first model cowshed at Gurukul Onkarpura as part of this mission.
Saini said it is the responsibility of society to strengthen moral values, social harmony and the spirit of service by following the path shown by Swami Brahmanand Ji. The state government, he added, is committed to preserving the legacy of saints and spiritual leaders. Under the Sant-Mahapurush Samman and Vichar Prasar Yojana, their teachings are being brought to the masses to inspire future generations.
During the event, community members presented a memento to the Chief Minister as a mark of respect. Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan and Pundri MLA Satpal Jamba were also present.
