Chandigarh, 15 November — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced several key development initiatives at the birth anniversary celebration of Dada Badhdev Poonia and the Chief Minister’s Honour Ceremony held in Khark Poonia village of Hisar district. Addressing a large gathering, he declared that the village school would be upgraded into a ‘Sanskriti Model School’ to ensure high-quality education for local children. He also announced the construction of a new community centre and the establishment of a public library in the village. Two books were released during the event.
Saini said that Dada Badhdev’s life continues to inspire society to embrace truth, discipline, and brotherhood. He emphasised that a united and disciplined community can overcome any challenge, and praised the Poonia Khap for its consistent service to society and the nation.
He urged the Khap members to guide the younger generation in the right direction, help them stay away from drugs, and encourage them to excel in education, sports, and technology. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of empowering the youth to build a stronger future.

Referring to the recent event in Baradkhal village, Sonipat, held in memory of martyr Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya, Saini noted that the state government is committed to spreading awareness about the sacrifices and teachings of Sikh Gurus. He said that the 350th martyrdom year of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is being commemorated on a large scale, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana on 25 November to attend a related event.
Saini said welfare schemes have gained momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted the rapid expansion of infrastructure projects, including extensive road development over the past 11 years and the ongoing process to establish 10 new IMTs in the state. He added that employment opportunities are being provided purely on merit, without middlemen or corruption.
The Chief Minister stated that the government fulfilled 50 out of 217 election promises within its first year, setting an example for governance. He said Haryana has become the first state in the country to procure all 24 crops at MSP. He also noted that land ownership rights have been granted to pre-state formation leaseholders and families living for more than 20 years on Panchayat and municipal lands. He announced the complete abolition of the colonial-era irrigation tax (abiana), offering major relief to farmers.
Highlighting major welfare schemes, Saini said the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana is providing eligible women with a monthly assistance of ₹2,100 starting this November. He added that nearly 19 lakh women from low-income households are receiving LPG cylinders for just ₹500 under the Har Ghar–Har Grihini Yojana. He also shared details of other state-run welfare initiatives.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, PWD Minister Ranbir Gangwa, Services Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, BJP Haryana in-charge Satish Poonia, MLAs, former ministers, senior officials, and several community leaders.
