Haryana Chief Minister Meets Shimane Governor, Invites Japanese Investment in State

Chandigarh, October 6 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with Shimane Prefecture Governor Tatsuya Maruyama today during his Japan visit to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in technology exchange, innovation, and joint ventures between enterprises of both regions.

Following the meeting, CM Saini addressed the Haryana-Shimane Prefecture Roadshow in Tokyo, engaging with investors, industrialists, and innovators. He highlighted the millennia-old historical and cultural ties between India and Japan and emphasized Haryana’s significance as the birthplace of Indian civilization and home to Kurukshetra, where Lord Krishna delivered the timeless message of the Bhagavad Gita.

CM Saini described the partnership as a strategic global collaboration built on trust, democratic principles, and entrepreneurial spirit. He noted that following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Japan, Japanese investors pledged to invest 10 trillion yen in India over the next decade, encouraging further investment in Haryana’s robust industrial ecosystem.

Haryana has long been recognized as Japan’s most trusted industrial hub in India. Its foundation was laid decades ago when Maruti Suzuki established its first manufacturing plant in the 1980s, revolutionizing mobility and creating a world-class industrial ecosystem. Today, Haryana hosts the largest number of Japanese companies in India and has emerged as a hub for culture, enterprise, and innovation.

CM Saini highlighted Haryana’s strategic location surrounding Delhi and state-of-the-art infrastructure, including the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and an integrated multi-modal logistics hub, which ensures seamless access to domestic markets.

He elaborated on Haryana’s investor-friendly policies focusing on advanced manufacturing, electronics, automotive sector innovations like electric vehicles and battery storage, green hydrogen, and collaboration in AI, IoT, and robotics with Shimane’s technological expertise.

Inviting global investors and innovators, the CM said, “Experience our vibrant culture, explore our industrial landscape, and engage with our progressive workforce ready to build a bright future together. Let us strengthen the already strong bonds between Shimane and Haryana.”
