Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini disbursed more than ₹1,890.16 crore directly into the bank accounts of 5,028,208 eligible beneficiaries across 26 major welfare programmes on Thursday. Addressing a press conference held at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state administration remains fully committed to ensuring that social assistance reaches every eligible resident in a prompt, transparent, and hassle-free manner through Direct Benefit Transfer.
A substantial portion of the financial package was allocated toward social security and women-centric initiatives. Under the flagship Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana, the government released its eleventh instalment amounting to ₹212.16 crore, benefiting 1,010,000 women and daughters. Saini announced that starting September 17, families with an annual income of up to ₹1,80,000 will also be brought under the ambit of this scheme, supported by a dedicated budgetary outlay of ₹6,500 crore for the ongoing fiscal year. In addition, ₹1,129.05 crore was transferred to over 3.5 million beneficiaries across 15 distinct social security pension schemes, including old-age and disability allowances, utilizing the Parivar Pehchan Patra proactive delivery model to eliminate manual paperwork.
The administration also extended crucial economic relief to vulnerable households and domestic consumers. Under the Dayalu scheme, an assistance package of ₹168.13 crore was provided to 4,520 families dealing with critical hardships. Domestic households received relief through the Har Ghar-Har Grihini Yojana, where ₹19.68 crore in gas subsidies was credited to 500,000 women who refilled their cylinders in July, advancing the government’s promise to provide domestic cooking gas at ₹500 per cylinder to eligible homemakers.
To strengthen agrarian and industrial stability, the state government released targeted incentives for farmers and commercial enterprises. Farmers cultivating potato, cauliflower, and honey received ₹49.89 crore under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana to offset market price fluctuations across multiple vegetable and beekeeping hubs. Simultaneously, the Department of Industries and Commerce disbursed ₹311.25 crore in commercial incentives across seven schemes to 670 micro, small, and medium enterprises. Senior cabinet ministers and administrative secretaries attended the event, reiterating that systemic transparency and proactive governance will continue to drive welfare delivery across Haryana.
