Haryana Celebrates 60th Foundation Day with Great Enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan

Chandigarh, November 1: Haryana’s 60th Foundation Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan today. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, his wife Smt. Mitra Ghosh, and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Union Minister Manohar Lal was also present on the occasion. Governor Ghosh announced a reward of ₹6 lakh for the artists who performed at the event.

The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing India’s diverse traditions. National award-winning artist Dr. Monika’s devotional hymn in praise of the goddess filled the atmosphere with spiritual energy. The program began with Haryana’s traditional folk dance, followed by the energetic Bhangra performance from Punjab, the Natua dance from West Bengal, Haryana’s graceful Ghoomar, and a stirring patriotic song that captivated the audience.

The event was attended by Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly Harvinder Singh Kalyan, Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Health and Family Welfare Minister Aarti Singh Rao, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, and several senior bureaucrats. Among those present were Additional Chief Secretaries Dr. Sumita Mishra (Home), G. Anupama (Services), Apurva Kumar Singh (Town and Country Planning), Anurag Aggarwal (Public Works), and Vijayendra Kumar (Cooperation). Other dignitaries included Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Arun Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Saket Kumar, Director General of Police O.P. Singh, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department K. Makarand Pandurang, Governor’s Secretary Dushmanta Kumar Behera, and Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Yashpal. A large number of officials, employees, and citizens also participated in the grand celebration.
