Chandigarh, August 30 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana on Saturday announced the launch of the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, aimed at empowering economically weaker women across the state. The scheme, set to begin from September 25, 2025, will provide ₹2,100 every month to eligible women aged 23 years and above, whether married or unmarried.
The minister said that initially, families with an annual income below ₹1 lakh would be covered, with the scheme’s scope to be expanded later. Each eligible woman in a household can receive benefits, provided she or her husband has been a Haryana resident for at least 15 years.
Rana highlighted that the scheme will especially assist women engaged in farming, labor, and household responsibilities, allowing them to manage their small daily expenses and contribute to family income. Beneficiaries will also be enrolled automatically in age-based welfare programs such as widow assistance at 45 years and old-age pension at 60 years.
However, the minister clarified that women already receiving higher pension benefits under the state’s nine existing schemes—such as Old Age Samman Allowance, Widow and Destitute Women Pension, Disability Pension, and Ladli Social Security Allowance—will not be eligible. Women suffering from Stage-3 and Stage-4 cancer, 54 recognized rare diseases, hemophilia, thalassemia, and sickle cell disease will continue to receive special benefits under the program. About 20 lakh women are expected to benefit in the first phase.
The government will soon issue a gazette notification and launch a mobile app for registrations. Beneficiary lists will be displayed in every panchayat and ward office, while women will also be notified via SMS.
Minister Rana appealed to all eligible women to register and take advantage of the scheme.
