Chandigarh, September 29, 2025: Haryana is moving swiftly to realize its vision of ‘Housing for All’ under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0).
The second meeting of the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi. During the meeting, approvals were granted for 2,198 beneficiaries under the Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC) vertical. This initiative will provide crucial support to families across 50 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), enabling them to build safe and sustainable homes.
J. Ganeshan, Director General of the ‘Housing for All’ department and Secretary of Housing, stated that under the BLC vertical, each eligible beneficiary will receive financial assistance of ₹2.50 lakh, comprising ₹1.50 lakh from the central government and ₹1.00 lakh from the state government. This support will allow beneficiaries to construct all-weather, pucca houses with a carpet area ranging from 30 to 45 square meters, improving their quality of life.
The meeting also reviewed the successful integration of the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme (MMSAY) with PMAY-U 2.0. Under MMSAY, 15,256 beneficiaries allocated one-marla plots have now been approved for ₹2.50 lakh each by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to construct their homes.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi emphasized that these approvals mark significant steps toward achieving the government’s universal housing vision. “Through joint efforts of the Centre and the State, thousands of urban families will benefit from improved housing facilities, enhancing their living standards,” he said.
