Arrest Warrants Issued Against AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and Associates in Patiala Case

Tarn Taran (Gurpreet Singh): Early trends from the vote count for the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election on Friday showed the Aam Aadmi Party gaining momentum, with its candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu emerging ahead by the end of the sixth round of counting.

Trailing him is Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa of the Shiromani Akali Dal, while candidates Karanbir Singh Burj (Congress), Harjit Singh Sandhu (BJP), and Independent nominee Mandeep Singh continue to compete closely in the multi-cornered contest.

The counting process began at 8 a.m., overseen by strict security arrangements at the International College of Nursing, Piddi, which has been converted into a counting centre for the bypoll. Officials confirmed that the exercise will span 16 rounds before the final outcome is announced.

The by-election, conducted on Tuesday, witnessed a voter participation of 60.95%. The seat had fallen vacant after the passing of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal in June, prompting the need for a bypoll.

With 15 candidates on the ballot and several local dynamics at play, the constituency is seeing a closely watched battle as trends continue to unfold.
