Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that a state-of-the-art global convention centre will be developed across 25 acres in Gurugram, drawing architectural and operational inspiration from Singapore’s renowned Suntec City. Saini outlined the project on Sunday during an official visit to Singapore, where he inspected international convention management practices, advanced engineering structures, and civic infrastructure facilities to guide development back home.

Accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, the Chief Minister toured the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre to examine operational workflows, spatial architecture, and international event hosting logistics. Saini noted that the planned facility in Gurugram will blend cutting-edge engineering and modern technology to accommodate premier international congresses, global trade exhibitions, and diplomatic summits, a move anticipated to reinforce Gurugram’s standing as a prime global corporate hub while catalysing domestic investment.

The Chief Minister also unveiled complementary urban development plans for Manesar, confirming that the state administration will build a sprawling urban park alongside advanced civic amenities to ensure eco-friendly, open community spaces. Later in the day, Saini visited Singapore’s iconic Gardens by the Bay to study advanced water harvesting mechanisms, sustainable biodiversity conservation, and green urban planning. During the site tour, the Chief Minister interacted with visiting domestic and international travellers, who greeted the delegation.

The visiting official delegation included Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Industries and Commerce Commissioner-Secretary Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Director General Yash Garg, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Director Dr. Aditya Dahiya, and HSIIDC Managing Director Vinay Pratap Singh.
