Gurugram (Balwinder Singh): A late-night police encounter in Wazirpur ended with the arrest of five men accused of opening fire at singer Rahul Fazilpuria last month. Four of the suspects sustained gunshot injuries to their legs during the exchange, while the fifth was apprehended unhurt.
Officials said the suspects were traveling in an Innova car when police teams intercepted them. As the accused tried to flee and opened fire, police retaliated. Nearly 18 bullets were fired before the situation was brought under control. All injured suspects were shifted to hospital and remain under police watch.
The group had been on the radar since July 14, when two bullets struck Fazilpuria’s Thar SUV on SPR Road in Badshahpur. Police further revealed that the same gang is linked to the August 4 murder of Rohit Shaukeen near Palm Hills Society on SPR Road.
Senior officers confirmed that all five accused are now in custody and will be interrogated to uncover the larger conspiracy. Security has been stepped up in sensitive areas to prevent any further incidents.
