Gujarat Influencer Kirti Patel Arrested in ₹2 Crore Honeytrap Case Involving Surat Builder

Ahmedabad/Surat, June 19, 2025 — Kirti Patel, a Gujarat-based Instagram influencer with over 1.3 million followers, has been arrested in Ahmedabad for allegedly honey-trapping a prominent builder from Surat and attempting to extort ₹2 crore from him. The arrest was carried out by Surat police with assistance from the Ahmedabad police after a nearly 10-month-long search.

Patel, also known as Kirti Adalja on social media, was taken into custody from the Sarkhej area. She had been on the run since a complaint was filed on June 2, 2024, alleging that she blackmailed the builder with compromising videos and demanded a hefty sum while launching a defamatory campaign against him online.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar, Patel frequently changed her SIM cards and location to evade arrest. Investigators also reached out to Instagram to track her digital activity, ultimately leading to her capture. She has been charged under various sections, including extortion, criminal intimidation, and cyber harassment.

Sources reveal that the builder was not only harassed via direct threats but also targeted through viral videos and online posts that included accusations and verbal abuse. Four other individuals connected to the case have already been arrested.

Patel is no stranger to controversy. Her social media presence has long been associated with threats, abusive rants, and prior allegations of assault and land fraud. During the arrest, she was reportedly unremorseful and even made comments suggesting she would use the incident to further amplify her online notoriety.

Police are now urging any other individuals who may have been victims of similar threats or extortion to come forward as they expand the investigation into Patel’s network and digital footprint. She is expected to be produced in court for a custody hearing soon.
