Gruesome Murder in Ludhiana: Police Arrest Man and Woman, Love Angle Suspected

National Times Bureau :- Ludhiana police have cracked a shocking murder case involving the brutal killing of a young man whose dismembered body was found dumped in a vacant plot earlier this week. Investigators have arrested two accused — a woman and a man — and initial findings suggest that the crime may be linked to a personal relationship dispute.

The horrifying discovery was made near the Jalandhar Bypass in the jurisdiction of Salem Tabri police station, where locals noticed suspicious material inside a deserted plot and alerted the authorities. Upon reaching the spot, police recovered the victim’s body, which had been cut into multiple pieces and concealed in and around a drum. A portion of the body was found burnt, adding to the brutality of the crime.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Davinder, a resident of Bharati Colony in Ludhiana. According to family members, Davinder had recently returned from Mumbai and stayed at home for barely 15 minutes before leaving. He did not return thereafter, and his mutilated body was later recovered from the vacant plot.

During the investigation, police suspicion turned towards one of Davinder’s close acquaintances, identified as Shera, who lives in a nearby lane. CCTV footage collected from the surrounding area reportedly shows Shera and another individual transporting a drum on a motorcycle, which is believed to be linked to the disposal of the body.

Based on technical evidence and questioning, police detained and later arrested Shera along with a woman allegedly connected to the case. Sources indicate that the motive appears to be related to a love affair, though officials are yet to make a formal disclosure.

Following the arrests, police teams carried out an extensive investigation at the police station and other locations linked to the accused. The suspects were later taken to Chandigarh for further interrogation. The incident has sent shockwaves across the city, raising serious concerns over violent crimes rooted in personal relationships.

Police officials are expected to hold a press conference to reveal further details as the investigation progresses.
