Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh/Rajeev Sharma): A purported leaked audio clip has surfaced in which Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar allegedly claims that he and his associates were behind the 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia.
In the recording, which is reportedly a conversation between Brar and Paramjit Singh Pamma, Brar is heard alleging that Nijjar was targeted because he supported people involved in drug-related activities and used young people for such networks. The authenticity of the audio has not been independently verified, and the claims made in it remain allegations.
What Did Goldy Brar Say About Nijjar?
According to reports citing the purported audio, Brar alleged that Nijjar backed individuals who recruited teenagers into drug-related activities and pressured young people into working as sellers or informants.
Brar is then heard claiming that his team decided to kill Nijjar because of those alleged activities. In one of the most significant parts of the clip, he reportedly says that he and his associates were responsible for the killing.
Brar also allegedly makes several other claims in the conversation, including references to criminal networks operating around Nijjar. None of those allegations have been independently established.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar Was Killed In Surrey In 2023
Nijjar was shot dead outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey on June 18, 2023.
His killing triggered a major diplomatic confrontation between India and Canada after then Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canadian agencies were examining a possible link between agents of the Indian government and the murder.
India strongly rejected the allegation at the time, calling it “absurd” and “motivated”, and consistently denied any involvement.
Canadian Police Said No Evidence Linked Indian Officials To Killing
The latest alleged audio has surfaced weeks after Canadian police publicly said they had found no evidence linking Indian government officials to Nijjar’s murder.
In July 2026, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland said investigators had found no evidence showing that Indian officials were charged or involved in the killing.
The development marked a significant shift from the political accusations that had dominated India-Canada relations since 2023.
India later said it had taken note of the Canadian official’s statement while reiterating concerns over transnational organised crime, terrorism, narco-trafficking and illegal firearms networks.
Goldy Brar Wanted In India
Goldy Brar, whose real name is Satinderjeet Singh, is wanted in India in connection with several serious criminal cases, including the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Recent reports have also linked Brar and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to the Nijjar murder investigation, though the purported leaked audio is significant because it appears to contain a direct claim of responsibility from Brar himself.
The clip is likely to draw fresh scrutiny because of the diplomatic consequences Nijjar’s killing had for India and Canada. However, until the recording is formally authenticated and its contents tested by investigators, Brar’s alleged statements should be treated as an unverified claim rather than an established finding.
