Gohana Railway Junction Undergoes Special Sanitation Drive Ahead of India’s First Hydrogen Train Launch

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh)— In preparation for the historic arrival of India’s first hydrogen-powered train, a major cleanliness campaign titled ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ (Welcome through Cleanliness) was launched at the Gohana Railway Junction on Thursday. Leading the initiative, Haryana Minister for Cooperation, Jails, Elections, Heritage, and Tourism, Dr. Arvind Sharma, alongside his spouse Dr. Rita Sharma and numerous volunteers, personally participated in the sanitation drive to transform the station premises ahead of the landmark event.

Speaking at the venue, Dr. Sharma emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is a collective civic duty rather than a temporary campaign, drawing a parallel to traditional Indian customs where households are meticulously prepared to welcome esteemed guests. He stated that the arrival of the eco-friendly hydrogen train at Gohana on July 17 represents a golden milestone in the history of modern Indian infrastructure. The minister remarked that under the national leadership, the country is consistently breaking new ground in green technology, positioning Gohana on the global map as a key hub for sustainable and pollution-free public transport.

The minister further confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the indigenous, zero-emission hydrogen train from Jind on Friday. The launch will be accompanied by a massive eco-friendly public rally in Jind, which has already generated unprecedented enthusiasm across the region. Dr. Sharma concluded by urging citizens to integrate strict sanitary practices into their daily routines, asserting that a clean environment forms the baseline for a healthy community and an advanced nation.
