From Haryana to Tokyo: Saini’s High-Level Mission to Attract Global Investors

Chandigarh, October 5: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will embark on a high-level visit to Japan from October 6 to 8, aimed at strengthening economic, industrial, and cultural ties between Haryana and Japan. The three-day tour marks a significant step toward realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat – Viksit Haryana (Developed India – Developed Haryana).

During his visit, the Chief Minister will meet top executives of leading Japanese corporations, including JETRO, AISIN, Denso, Air Water, Sojitz, Nissin Foods, and Sumitomo Corporation. His discussions will focus on attracting foreign investment, advancing industrial cooperation, and promoting Haryana as a preferred destination for global investors.

Saini will begin his official engagements in Tokyo with meetings at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He will hold talks with Japan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Takuma Miyaji, and Minister of State for Economy, Trade and Industry, Yuichiro Koga, to explore new opportunities in trade, technology, and industrial partnership.

Later in the day, he will attend programs at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo and meet representatives from top Japanese firms. He is also scheduled to meet the Governor of Shimane Prefecture. In the evening, he will participate in the community celebration of the Gita Mahotsav organized by the Indian Embassy.

On October 7, CM Saini will travel to Osaka via the Shinkansen (bullet train) to attend the World Expo 2025. He will inaugurate the Haryana State Zone and hold meetings with mayors and business leaders. He will also engage with senior representatives from Kyocera, Minebea Mitsumi, Mitsui Kinzoku Components, Horiba Ltd., and the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan. Later that evening, he will address an investment roadshow in Osaka, inviting Japanese investors to set up industrial units in Haryana.

On October 8, Saini will meet the top management of Suzuki and visit Kubota’s manufacturing plant to discuss advancements in manufacturing technology. He will also hold discussions with the Governor of Osaka Prefecture to strengthen bilateral ties.

Reflecting on the visit, the Chief Minister said that several Japanese companies have already established a strong presence in Haryana. The state’s recent budget announced the creation of ten new Integrated Multi-Modal Townships (IMTs), with sites already being identified. Saini noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Haryana has emerged as a leading industrial state over the past decade.

He added that many foreign investors have expressed interest in investing in Haryana, and this visit will help convert that intent into action. “The dream of a developed India can only be realized when progressive states like Haryana become examples of self-reliance and international collaboration. This visit is a crucial step in that direction,” he said.
