Chandigarh, July 19 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has rapidly progressed toward becoming a developed nation, rising from the 11th to the 4th position in global economic rankings. He emphasized that the journey toward making India a developed country by 2047 will see Haryana playing a leading role alongside the Centre.
Speaking at an event held in Jind district, CM Saini said that the government is advancing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s philosophy of Antyodaya—uplifting the last person in the queue. He credited PM Modi for transforming India’s global image and positioning it as a strong, self-reliant, and rapidly growing economy. He expressed confidence that India will soon become the world’s third-largest economy.
Past Governments Lacked a Clear Development Agenda
Taking a swipe at previous administrations, Saini said that earlier governments had no clear vision for the country’s development and were often focused on agendas unrelated to the people’s welfare. In contrast, the current government is singularly focused on the goal of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047, with Haryana contributing fully to this national mission.
Prior to the event, CM Saini inaugurated the Agrasen Dharamshala and performed the Bhoomi Pujan for Nandi and Kamdhenu Gaushalas. He also announced a grant of ₹31 lakh for the Dharamshala. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the function as a special guest.
Agrasen Dharamshala Symbolizes Social Harmony
Praising the legacy of Maharaja Agrasen, CM Saini said that the Dharamshala is not just a structure of bricks and cement, but a living representation of the timeless ideals of social unity, service, and equality. Maharaja Agrasen’s principle of “one brick and one rupee” was an early model of socialism and cooperation, he said, and its message of collective responsibility remains relevant even today.
He called the Dharamshala a “heritage of the entire society” and a future hub for social harmony. The Chief Minister extended gratitude to the donors and volunteers of the Agarwal community, saying their service spirit would continue to inspire future generations.
Rekha Gupta: Symbol of Grassroots Leadership
Welcoming Delhi CM Rekha Gupta to her native village Nandgarh on her birthday, CM Saini commended her dedication to public service and commitment to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s ideology. He noted her humble background and praised her for working tirelessly for national development.
Gupta, addressing the gathering, said Delhi is her karmabhoomi (land of action), and Haryana is her janmabhoomi (birthplace). She reaffirmed her resolve to fulfill her duties with integrity, in line with the responsibilities entrusted to her by the Prime Minister.
She highlighted the crucial roles that both Delhi and Haryana will play in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation. “It is the result of the BJP’s inclusive policies and visionary leadership that ordinary citizens from modest backgrounds now serve in top positions of power,” she said.
Gupta also thanked CM Saini for his developmental initiatives for the people of Julana.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishan Lal Middha, MLAs Ramkumar Gautam and Randhir Panihar, and Haryana BJP President Mohan Lal Kaushik.
