Fresh turn in Moosewala murder case: Six witnesses examined, father seeks clarity on four accused

Gurpreet Singh :- Proceedings in the high-profile murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala witnessed significant developments today as a local court recorded the statements of six prosecution witnesses. The testimonies were completed during the course of the hearing, marking a steady progression in the trial.

According to counsel Satinder Pal Singh Mittal, the witnesses whose depositions were concluded included Shankar Lal, Rajkumar, Amit Kumar, Ude Ram, Aditya and Baljeet Singh, a police constable. The court heard their accounts in detail before closing this phase of examination.

During the hearing, Moosewala’s father, Balkaur Singh, also appeared before the court and filed an application seeking a status report on four individuals — Avtar Singh, Navjot Pandher, Jeevanjot and Kanwarpal Grewal. In his plea, he expressed concern over the lack of clarity regarding whether these accused had been arrested or discharged, noting that no challan had yet been presented against them.

The application urged the court to direct investigating agencies to clearly outline the status of these individuals, stating that such clarity was essential for ensuring effective and informed proceedings in the case.

Meanwhile, two of the accused, Pawan Bishnoi and Jagtar Singh, were produced in court in person, while others joined the proceedings through video conferencing.

The court has now adjourned the matter to May 1, 2026, for further hearing.
