Fresh Israeli Air Operation Targets Iranian Military Sites Following Overnight Missile Barrage

Benjamin Netanyahu Urges Iranians to "Rise Against Oppression" Amid Escalating Conflict with Tehran

Tel Aviv/Tehran (Rajeev Sharma): The conflict between Israel and Iran witnessed another sharp escalation on Monday as Israeli forces launched airstrikes on military facilities inside Iran, only hours after Tehran fired a series of missiles towards Israeli territory in a retaliatory move.

The Israeli military confirmed that its Air Force carried out coordinated attacks against what it described as strategic military targets located in western and central parts of Iran. Officials said the operation was aimed at degrading capabilities linked to the Iranian military establishment.

The strikes followed an overnight missile assault launched by Iran, which came in response to Israel’s recent operations in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The exchange marks one of the latest episodes in the growing cycle of retaliation between the two regional rivals.

Reports from Iranian media indicated that explosions were heard in several major cities, including Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan, during the early hours of Monday. While the blasts prompted heightened security concerns, Iranian authorities have yet to provide detailed information regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.

The Israeli Defence Forces announced the operation through an official statement, saying its fighter aircraft had struck military infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime. No additional operational details were immediately disclosed.

The latest military developments have intensified fears of a wider regional conflict, with international observers closely tracking the rapidly evolving situation. Diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions remain under pressure as hostilities continue to expand beyond national borders.

With both nations exchanging military action in quick succession, concerns are mounting that further retaliatory measures could destabilise the region and complicate ongoing international mediation efforts.
