Fresh bomb threat emails trigger panic in Delhi schools; nothing suspicious found so far

National Times Bureau :- Several schools in Delhi were placed on high alert on Friday morning after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement agencies. The Delhi Police, along with fire officials and bomb disposal squads, rushed to the affected campuses and carried out detailed anti-sabotage inspections.

The police confirmed that emergency calls began coming in around 9.12 am from at least three schools reporting threatening emails. Among the institutions that alerted authorities were BT Tamil School in Jhandewalan, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, and The British School. As the morning progressed, more schools reported receiving similar messages.

Officials said the emails were sent from an anonymous account. As a precaution, students were evacuated from the premises while search operations were conducted.

In a communication sent to parents, one of the schools stated that a security alert had been received and that police teams were on campus to ensure safety. The message reassured families that all students had been safely evacuated and that regular classes would resume once authorities declared the premises secure.

Senior police officers said that, as of now, no suspicious object has been recovered from any of the schools. Search operations were still underway at the time of filing this report.

This marks the second such incident in the national capital within a week. On February 9, more than 15 schools had received similar bomb threat emails, which later turned out to be hoaxes following thorough checks by security agencies.

Earlier this week, at least 13 schools in Delhi were targeted by threatening emails sent from an account using the name “Zachary Jenkins.” The message reportedly contained provocative content and warned of a possible attack on Parliament. After detailed investigation and explosive detection procedures, authorities declared the threat to be false.

The scare was not limited to Delhi. The following day, nearly 10 schools in Chandigarh and Mohali received similar threats. On Wednesday morning, as many as 18 schools in Mohali were sent threatening emails shortly before the start of the school day, triggering widespread concern among parents and administrators.

The police are currently investigating the source of the latest emails and are working to trace those responsible. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and assured that all necessary security measures are in place.
