Amritsar, February 23, 2025 – Four more youths from Punjab have been deported from the United States and arrived at Sri Guru Ram Das International Airport in Amritsar today.
The deported individuals belong to different districts, with two from Batala and one from Jalandhar. Upon arrival, local police and investigative agencies took them in for questioning to understand the circumstances of their deportation.
Growing Number of Deportations
This comes just days after a third US military plane carrying 112 Indians landed in Amritsar. Earlier, on February 15, another 116 Indian citizens, including women and children, were also deported from the US. Following their arrival, officials conducted inquiries and health checks before allowing them to return to their respective hometowns.
The increasing number of deportations highlights tightening US immigration policies, particularly against illegal migration routes used by Indian nationals. Authorities in Punjab are closely monitoring these cases as more deportations are expected in the coming weeks.
