National Times Bureau :- Fortis Healthcare has announced a major expansion in Punjab with an investment of ₹950 crore, aimed at extending its Mohali hospital. The project, announced by Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 5,000 people, including 2,500 direct jobs and 2,200 indirect jobs.
Fortis plans to develop the hospital into a multi-specialty facility spanning over 13.5 acres. Manoo Kapila, Head of Corporate Affairs at Fortis Healthcare, stated that the company, which opened its first hospital in Mohali in 2001, is prioritizing Punjab for this expansion. He also confirmed future investments in Jalandhar and Amritsar to further strengthen Fortis’ presence in the state.
The investment comes under the guidance of Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, reflecting the government’s efforts to attract continuous investment in the state.
