KEZAD, UAE (Bureau): Five Indian nationals sustained injuries in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, March 28, 2026, after falling debris from an intercepted ballistic missile struck the vicinity of the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). The Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed the incident via social media, stating that the injuries ranged from moderate to minor. The “competent authorities” have been deployed to the site to manage two resulting fire incidents caused by the debris, following what was described as a successful interception by the UAE’s air defence systems.
This latest strike follows a tragic incident on Thursday, where an Indian national was among two people killed when missile debris fell onto a street in the UAE. The second fatality in that earlier attack was a Pakistani national, while another Indian was among the three injured. The Indian Embassy in the UAE has expressed its “deepest condolences” regarding the recent death and confirmed it is closely coordinating with Emirati authorities to provide all possible support and assistance to the affected families and the newly injured individuals.
The UAE government has issued a stern advisory urging the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to refrain from circulating unverified reports or rumours. As regional tensions continue to impact the safety of the expatriate community, the Indian mission remains on high alert. This escalation in aerial attacks has prompted a sharp focus on the security of industrial and economic hubs like KEZAD, which house a significant number of foreign workers.
