Calgary (Rajeev Sharma):,Calgary’s first major snowfall of the season brought widespread disruption across the city on Monday, leading to dangerous road conditions, extensive travel delays, and nearly 400 collisions.
Officials confirmed a total of 393 reported crashes, as icy roads and reduced visibility made driving treacherous. Of these, 26 collisions involved injuries, prompting a surge in emergency calls. The city also recorded 50 non-injury hit-and-run incidents amid the challenging conditions.

Air travel was also heavily affected. Calgary International Airport reported significant flight delays and cancellations, with crews working to de-ice aircraft and clear snow from runways. Passengers were urged to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

Public transit faced similar challenges, with Calgary Transit announcing multiple bus detours and service delays as some routes became unsafe due to steep, icy roadways.
City officials are advising residents to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and exercise caution as cleanup operations continue through the week
