Gurpreet Singh :- The Progressive Punjab Investors Summit being held in Mohali enters its final day today, with several key investment agreements expected to be signed. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to attend the concluding sessions along with representatives and senior executives from a number of leading companies from India and abroad.

The summit has drawn significant participation from industrial groups, entrepreneurs and policy makers, with exhibitions showcasing a range of innovations and products, including electric tractors and advanced defence equipment. The event is aimed at promoting Punjab as an attractive destination for industrial investment and economic growth.

The summit was inaugurated on March 13 by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal, who highlighted the state government’s focus on transforming Punjab into a major industrial hub. During the opening sessions, the leadership assured investors of a business-friendly environment, improved connectivity and skilled manpower while reiterating that no new taxes would be imposed on industry.

Several major industrial groups announced plans for expansion and new projects in the state, with investment proposals worth thousands of crores received during the first day itself. Discussions on the second day focused on emerging sectors such as aerospace and defence manufacturing, with foreign firms also expressing interest in investing in Punjab.

Officials said the final figures of the total investment commitments are expected to become clearer after the conclusion of the summit, which is being seen as a significant effort by the state government to attract industry, generate employment and strengthen Punjab’s economic prospects.
