Ferozepur Murder Case: Key Suspect Nabbed After Motorcycle Chase and Gunfire

Ferozepur: Police on Thursday arrested the man believed to be the lead assailant in the killing of Naveen Arora, the son of a prominent RSS leader, after a dramatic early-morning pursuit that ended in an exchange of gunfire.

Officials said Gursimran Singh, also known locally as Jatin Kali, was intercepted near Sodhiwala in Arif Ke village after authorities received specific intelligence about his movements. Acting swiftly, the Ferozepur police blocked exit routes and deployed multiple patrol units in the area.

During the operation, officers attempted to halt a motorcycle matching the suspect’s description. Instead of stopping, the rider reportedly accelerated and attempted to evade the barricade. A chase followed, during which the suspect is said to have fired at a police vehicle, cracking its front windscreen. The officers fired back, hitting the fugitive in the leg and bringing the chase to an end.

He was taken into custody on the spot and transferred to the Civil Hospital for medical care. A .32-bore pistol was recovered from him, and police said it will be examined to determine if it is the weapon used in Arora’s murder last weekend.

Two alleged collaborators — Harsh and Kanav — had already been arrested earlier this week. Investigators have chosen not to reveal the identity of another suspect to protect the integrity of the probe. A fifth individual, known as Badal, remains untraceable.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more details are expected as forensic reports and interrogations progress.
