‘Faith’ Community Forum Launched in Tricity with Grand Event; Punjab Governor Lauds Cultural Unity

Mohali/Zirakpur, June 1, 2025 — In a historic show of unity, hundreds of residents from Fazilka and Ferozepur came together in Tricity to celebrate culture, harmony, and community roots. The much-awaited launch of the community forum “FAITH” (Fazilka-Ferozepur Association in Tricity for Harmony) took place in the gracious presence of Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Kataria praised the initiative:
“Efforts like FAITH carry the true power to unite society. It is heartening to see people from border districts preserving their cultural values and traditions even while settled far from home. This forum will stand as a beacon of unity, dialogue, and cooperation.”

FAITH’s founders, philanthropist Karan Gilhotra and social innovator Navdeep Asija, emphasized that FAITH is not merely an event but a continuous movement to foster dialogue, collaboration, and cultural bonding among youth, families, and professionals.

The launch was marked by vibrant performances, including traditional dances like Jhoomar, exhibitions of regional cuisine, and displays of handicrafts, all of which captivated the audience. Interactive storytelling sessions and inspiring speeches deepened participants’ emotional connection to their roots.

A large turnout of residents from Fazilka, Ferozepur, Abohar, Jalalabad, and Malout now living in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula made the event a true celebration of shared heritage. More than a gathering, it signaled the beginning of a cultural renaissance.

Living up to the forum’s motto, “Vishwas Saath Hai To Sab Sambhav Hai” (With Faith, Everything is Possible), the event laid the groundwork for future social and cultural programs under the FAITH banner.

During the event, Punjab Governor also symbolically honored iconic personalities including cricket legend Kapil Dev, cricketer Shubman Gill, and singer Gurnam Bhulla though they could not attend personally, their representatives received the honors. Prominent guests present included Dr. Anshu Kataria (Aryans Group of Colleges), Padmanabhan Walia, Arvinder Pal Singh, and Vikram Aditya Ahuja.
