Exit Polls Project NDA’s Clear Majority in Bihar Assembly Elections

Patna, November 12, 2025: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised for a comfortable victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, according to multiple exit polls released on Tuesday evening. Most surveys indicate that the ruling alliance, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United), is likely to secure a clear majority, while the INDIA bloc trails behind.

The polls suggest that the NDA could win between 140 and 160 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, crossing the halfway mark of 122. The opposition INDIA alliance, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, is projected to secure 70 to 90 seats. Smaller regional outfits and independents are expected to account for the remaining few.

Political analysts believe that factors such as improved road infrastructure, welfare schemes, and caste-based mobilization helped the NDA maintain its dominance in key constituencies. The BJP’s aggressive campaigning and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s multiple rallies across the state are also said to have played a crucial role in swaying voter sentiment.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD-led alliance appears to have lost some ground compared to previous elections. Despite strong youth appeal and anti-incumbency factors, the opposition struggled to consolidate votes in crucial swing regions.

Final results of the Bihar Assembly elections will be announced by the Election Commission once counting concludes later this week. Political observers note that the exit poll projections, if confirmed, would mark a significant endorsement of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership and the NDA’s governance model in Bihar.
