Ensure Timely Completion of Sikh Museum and Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum in Kurukshetra: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, June 4, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed that the construction of the Sikh Museum and the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum in Kurukshetra be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said these projects aim to preserve the legacy of the Gurus and disseminate their life philosophies and ideals among the masses, especially the youth, inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

The Chief Minister issued these directions while chairing a review meeting on the progress of the museums.

He emphasized that the Sikh Museum must offer a comprehensive view of Sikh history, culture, and the contributions of the Gurus. It should also document all places in Haryana where Sikh Gurus have visited, helping the public—particularly younger generations—understand their spiritual, social, and historical significance. Additionally, he instructed that the museum must realistically portray the historical battles Sikh Gurus fought against Mughal oppression for the protection of faith, justice, and human values, turning their stories of sacrifice into an eternal source of inspiration.

CM Saini proposed the formation of an expert committee for authentic documentation of Sikh history. This body should consist of renowned historians, professors from prestigious universities, and scholars associated with literary academies to ensure high-quality and accurate content for the museum.

Regarding the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum, the Chief Minister underscored the need for not only architectural magnificence but also content that reflects Guru Ravidas’s teachings, spiritual philosophy, and his vision of social equality. He called for a separate expert committee comprising scholars with deep knowledge of Guru Ravidas’s life and works to guide the museum’s content and narrative.

CM Saini also announced that the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be celebrated in November with full reverence and grandeur. He urged officials to begin preparations in a structured manner so that the commemoration becomes a historic and memorable event. A wide range of programs, including seminars, processions, and memorial functions, will be organized across Haryana to spread the message of sacrifice, faith, and resilience.

It was informed during the meeting that the Haryana Urban Development Authority has already allotted three acres for the Sikh Museum and five acres for the Guru Ravidas Museum. The process for starting construction is being given priority.

Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to the CM Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban and Village Planning Department Apoorva Kumar Singh, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Dr. Amit Aggarwal, Director General K.
