England Clinch Thriller at Lord’s, Beat India by 22 Runs to Lead Series 2-1

London, July 14, 2025: Ravindra Jadeja’s valiant unbeaten 61 proved insufficient as England sealed a nerve-jangling 22-run win over India on the final day of the third Test at Lord’s, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Chasing 193 for victory, India were bowled out for 170 despite a spirited lower-order resistance. England’s pace duo of Jofra Archer (3/55) and captain Ben Stokes (3/48) led the charge, dismantling India’s batting order in crucial spells.

Starting Day 5 needing 135 runs with six wickets in hand, India lost momentum early. Jofra Archer set the tone, producing a peach that knocked back Rishabh Pant’s off stump for just 9. Stokes then removed the resolute KL Rahul (39) via an LBW decision overturned on review, swinging the match firmly England’s way.

Archer continued to shine, pulling off a sharp return catch to dismiss Washington Sundar, while Chris Woakes had Nitish Reddy edging to the keeper for 13.

Despite the flurry of wickets, Jadeja fought on, shielding the tail and keeping India’s hopes alive. But England’s relentless attack eventually wrapped up the innings, sparking jubilant celebrations in front of the Lord’s crowd.

With the series now 2-1 in England’s favour, the teams head into the fourth Test with everything to play for in this fiercely contested battle.
