Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa stated on Sunday, April 12, 2026, that the life of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar proves that education and study can overcome any obstacle, regardless of a lack of resources. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony held at Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas Bhawan in village Balak, Hisar, to commemorate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, the Minister emphasized that Ambedkar’s struggle serves as the greatest example of dedication to books and knowledge.
Minister Gangwa urged the youth to make books their lifelong companions, echoing Baba Saheb’s belief that education is the primary key to socio-economic transformation. He reminded the audience of the famous slogan: “Educated, Organized, and Agitated.” During the event, the Minister unveiled a statue of Dr. Ambedkar and announced a grant of ₹5 lakh to provide books for the local library in village Balak, encouraging students to empower themselves through learning.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to Ambedkar’s vision, the Minister noted that schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Ayushman Bharat are designed to reach the last person in society. He mentioned the Haryana government’s “Sant Mahapurush Vichar Prasar Yojana,” which aims to spread the teachings of great personalities. Furthermore, he highlighted state initiatives such as scholarships for SC and OBC students, the Lado Lakshmi scheme for women’s empowerment, and various skill development programs aimed at ensuring no section of society is left behind under the principle of “Antyodaya.”
