New Delhi, June 8, 2025 – External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has embarked on a high-stakes diplomatic mission to Europe, landing in Paris today. Over the next week, he will engage in discussions in France, Brussels, and Belgium aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and reiterating India’s uncompromising stance on terrorism .
In France, Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Jean‑Noël Barrot and senior national leaders. He is also set to participate in the inaugural Mediterranean Raisina Dialogue in Marseille, an initiative designed to foster dialogue on regional security and global issues .
Moving on to Brussels, the minister will engage in a Strategic Dialogue with EU High Representative and Vice-President Kaja Kallas, along with senior officials from the European Commission and Parliament. Talks will center on deepening collaboration across trade, investment, green energy, technology, and security dimensions .
His final stop, Belgium, will feature bilateral consultations with Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot and other top government officials. Jaishankar will also meet members of the Indian diaspora, spotlighting strong people-to-people ties and robust economic engagement .
This visit comes a month after India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, underscoring New Delhi’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. Jaishankar is expected to brief European partners on this policy and seek unified backing against cross-border terror infrastructure .
The tour also commemorates 25 years of the India–France strategic partnership, rooted in long-standing defense, diplomatic, and economic collaboration—including counterterrorism efforts and military exercises .
