Dhannola Temple Fire Tragedy: Critically Injured Cook Ram Jatan Dies, Family Shattered

National Times Bureau :- A tragic fire that broke out last Tuesday in the ancient Shri Hanuman Ji temple kitchen in Dhannola has claimed another life. The fire started suddenly while pouring oil into the stove in the langar hall’s kitchen. Sixteen people were seriously burned in the accident. Six were referred to Faridkot hospital, while the cook Ram Jatan was sent to Barnala hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he died during treatment.

A Family in Grief
Today, when Ram Jatan’s body was brought home, the atmosphere turned very sorrowful. His wife, daughter, and other family members were overwhelmed with grief. Ram Jatan was the sole breadwinner of the family, working as a cook to support his wife, three sons, and one daughter. His sudden death has put the family in a very difficult situation.

Temple Management and Union’s Demand
The temple management committee has provided financial help to Ram Jatan’s family. Meanwhile, the Cook’s Union in Barnala has appealed to the Punjab government to give a government job to a member of the deceased’s family and provide suitable financial compensation, so the family’s life can get back on track.

Political Leaders’ Support and Government Assurance
Harinder Singh Dhaliwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party in Barnala, visited the family to share their sorrow. He assured that the Punjab government stands with the family and will provide every possible help if needed.

Wave of Grief in the Area
This incident has deeply shocked not only the family but the whole area. Local residents, the Cook’s Union, and various religious organizations have expressed their condolences and demanded proper support from the government. Today, Ram Jatan was given his last rites according to religious customs.
