Dehradun, November 2, 2025 — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that over 26,000 government jobs have been created in the state over the past four years, with the figure expected to rise to at least 36,000 by next year. Speaking at a press conference marking the start of Uttarakhand’s silver jubilee celebrations, Dhami said several recruitment exams are underway and pending results will push the total number higher.
The Chief Minister described the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation on November 9 as an occasion to reflect on its achievements. He highlighted key legislative milestones, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) — making Uttarakhand the first state in India to do so — and the enactment of laws against forced conversions, riots, land fraud, and counterfeiting.
Dhami also emphasized the state’s progressive reservation policies, noting 10% job reservation for the families of statehood agitators and 30% for women. He said Uttarakhand’s economy has grown 26 times since its formation, while per capita income has risen 17-fold.
Highlighting economic growth, Dhami said the state received investments exceeding ₹1 lakh crore since the 2023 Global Investors Summit. A ₹200 crore venture fund was also established to support startups. The 2025–26 budget, exceeding ₹1 lakh crore, was the largest in the state’s history, he added.
Under welfare initiatives, Dhami said 1.85 lakh families are receiving three free cooking gas cylinders annually under the Antyodaya Yojana, while 1.65 lakh women have become financially self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
On infrastructure, the Chief Minister said redevelopment projects at Kedarnath and Badrinath are progressing rapidly. The Kedarnath reconstruction is expected to be completed within a year, while a ₹300 crore master plan is underway in Badrinath. Ropeway projects to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib are also about to begin.
Dhami added that the construction of 48 ancient temples and gurdwaras in Kumaon is in progress, and work on the Delhi-Dehradun elevated expressway is nearing completion. Once operational, the travel time between the two cities will be cut to around 2–2.5 hours. He further said that 70% of work on the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line has been completed, marking another step in improving connectivity across the hill state.
