DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma Spearheads Comprehensive Crackdown on Crime and Drug Rackets Across Rajasthan

Jaipur (Gurpreet Singh): Since assuming the role of Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan in July 2025, senior IPS officer Rajiv Kumar Sharma has implemented a series of strategic measures to fortify law and order and dismantle organized crime networks across the state.

Under his leadership, the Rajasthan Police have intensified anti-narcotics operations, resulting in the successful dismantling of several major drug rackets in districts such as Jhalawar, Kota, and Bharatpur. In a recent operation, over 100 kilograms of narcotics were seized and multiple offenders arrested, marking a significant milestone in the fight against drug trafficking.

DGP Sharma, a 1990-batch IPS officer, has also overseen a large-scale reorganization of the police force, transferring over 30 senior IPS and 180 RPS officers to enhance efficiency and accountability. His administration has prioritized intelligence-based policing, cybercrime control, and community outreach programs aimed at rebuilding public trust in the police.

Speaking to the media, Sharma reaffirmed his commitment to making Rajasthan a model state for effective policing, emphasizing technology-driven investigations and transparency in police operations. He stated that curbing the drug menace and organized crime remains a top priority to ensure safety and stability in the state.

The recent crackdowns have earned widespread appreciation from both state authorities and the public, signaling a renewed phase of proactive and professional policing under DGP Sharma’s leadership.
