New Delhi, Feb. 11 — The Delhi Police Special Cell has issued a notice to Penguin Random House India seeking explanations regarding the reported circulation of an unpublished book by former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane on social media, officials said on Wednesday.
The notice comes amid growing controversy over the status of the memoir and allegations that unauthorised versions of the manuscript were being shared in digital and other formats ahead of its official release. The dispute has drawn attention from the publisher, the former Army Chief, and prominent political leaders.
According to a senior police officer, the Special Cell has formally sought detailed responses from the publishing house, raising multiple queries related to the reported leak.
“Delhi Police Special Cell has issued a notice to Penguin India. Several questions have been asked through the notice, and responses have been sought,” the officer said.
The memoir, titled “Four Stars of Destiny,” is yet to be officially published. However, reports suggesting that portions of the manuscript may have surfaced online have prompted legal action.
Police confirmed that an FIR has been registered following allegations of unauthorised dissemination of the book’s contents. The matter is currently under investigation, and officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged leak.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the nature of the material circulated or the possible sources behind it. The investigation is ongoing.
